rockwell (musician)

Rockwell (born Kennedy Gordy on March 15 1964 in Detroit, Michigan) is an African-American R&B performer for the Motown label. Although he was the son of Motown founder/CEO Berry Gordy, Rockwell got himself a deal without his father's knowledge, to avoid charges of nepotism. In 1984, Rockwell released his only hit single, "Somebody's Watching Me", featuring guest vocals from Michael and Jermaine Jackson. "Somebody's Watching Me" was a Top Ten pop hit in the US and a #1 R&B hit. Follow-up singles, however, underperformed, and Rockwell soon ended his musical career with Motown.
