Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction CeremonyThe Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is held annually in March and sponsored by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It is the last of four annual major US music awards shows (after the Billboard Music Awards, the American Music Awards, and the Grammy Awards). Each year the ceremonies honor a small group of artists for their contribution to music history. Current eligibility rules dictate 25 years from an artist or group's first record release. Each artist/group's presentation is usually followed by a special performance from the inductee (or, if the artist(s) has/have passed away, by an associate of or representing the artist). The annual ceremony usually ends with an all-star jam session (on the mold of those that used to end Dick Clark's American Bandstand specials). Of the four major music awards shows, this is the only ceremony that is not aired live (except on closed-circuit television at the Hall of Fame building on the night of the ceremony). However, edited versions are currently shown on VH1.
