Robin Harris

Robin Hughes Harris (August 30 1953 - March 18 1990) was an African-American comedian and actor, best known for his recurring comic sketch about "Bb's Kids". In the sketch, Harris' girlfriend would insist that he take her best friend Bb's three ill-behaved children with them on a date, as she was always forced to babysit. The children would regularly make a fool out of and/or annoy Harris. "We Bb's kids," they would proclaim, "we don't die...we multiply." The Hudlin Brothers had intended to make a film based upon the "Bb's Kids" sketch, but Harris died of a heart attack while the film was in pre-production. Bb's Kids instead became an animated feature--the first ever to feature an all-Black main cast--directed by Bruce W. Smith and featuring the voices of Fazion Love, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Marques Houston, Nell Carter, and Tone-Loc. Harris also had co-starring roles in a number of notable feature films, including I'm Gonna Get You Sucka (1988), Do the Right Thing (1989), House Party (1990), and Mo Better Blues (1990).
