Robert Smith (Bbc)

Sir Robert Smith (born 8 August 1944) was a BBC Governor with responsibility for Scotland. Appointed in August 1999 in 2003 he became Chairman of BBC Children in Need and his term of office as National Governor was extended to July 2007. In July 2004 Sir Robert announced that he would step down from the BBC board of Governors at the end of 2004.
