Risle
Risle
(or Rille) is a 140 km long
river
in
Normandy
. The river begins in
Orne
near
L'Aigle
, crosses the western part of the department of
Eure
flowing from south to north and out into the
estuary
of the
Seine
on the left bank near
Berville-sur-Mer
. Its valley is part of the
Pays d'Ouche
and bounds the regions of the
Lieuvin
and
Roumois
. Risle is almost regarded as a coastal river: fishing is common downstream at
Pont-Audemer
. Its only tributary is the
Charentonne
. Risle flows through the communes of:
L'Aigle
Rugles
Beaumont-le-Roger
Brionne
Glos-sur-Risle
Grosley-sur-Risle
Montfort-sur-Risle
Pont-Audemer
