Right Said Fred

Right Said Fred are a British pop group made up of brothers Richard and Fred Fairbrass. They took their title from a novelty song of the 1960s by Bernard Cribbins. Fairbass has previously found success posing for homoerotic nude photographs in various magazines. In 1991 they released their debut, "Im Too Sexy", which went to No 1 in the US. The song was also a huge hit in the UK, spending six weeks at number 2 behind Bryan Adams' blockbuster (Everything I Do) I Do It For You It went on to become a hit around the world, though it was banned by the Government of South Korea. Their second single "Don't Talk Just Kiss", which featured soul diva Jocelyn Brown, was released for the christmas market and made number 3 in the UK charts. In 1992 they released their third single, "Deeply Dippy". Although it was their lowest-selling single to date, it was also up against weaker opposition and therefore became their first, and to date only, UK number one single. The success of the singles resulted in their debut album Up. In 1993 they released their second album, Sex and Travel. Their third album was called Smashing. Richard Fairbrass went on to present TV programmes, Gaytime TV and Desert Forges. Outside of the UK, however, Right Said Fred are regarded as an obscure one-hit wonder on the strength of "I'm Too Sexy" alone.
