Richmond BravesThe Richmond Braves are the AAA team of the Atlanta Braves and are part of the International League. They are based in Richmond, Virginia. They play their home games at The Diamond, which features a sculpture of a gigantic Native American brave on the outside walkway. In 2004, a project was proposed to build a new stadium for the Braves in the Shockoe Bottom district of downtown Richmond. The Diamond was in disrepair, including the fact that the field would flood after heavy rains due to the ground being clay under the grass. After Tropical Storm Gaston devastated Shockoe Bottom, the proposal was dropped. External link
