Richard Barbieri

Richard Barbieri (b 1957) played keyboards in the band Japan. After Japan disbanded he worked extensively with his bandmate Steve Jansen, releasing a number of albums under both their own names, and as The Dolphin Brothers. Recently he has been working with Jansen and Mick Karn, another previous member of Japan as JBK, as a member of the band Porcupine Tree, and in the band Indigo Falls with his wife Suzanne Barbieri. He also toured with Marillion singer Steve Hogarth, after collaborating on his solo album 'Ice Cream Genius'. Using analog synths for years, especially the legendary Prophet V, Richard Barbieri is considered more as a synth player than a 'straight' keyboard player. The photo of Richard Barbieri is from the back cover of the album Beginning to Melt, and is used by the kind permission of Medium Productions. Barbieri, Richard
