Remagen

Remagen is a city in Germany in the Bundesland of Rhineland-Palatinate in the south of Bonn at the Rhine river. Remagen became famous for its Ludendorff Bridge that was captured by Allied forces on 7 March 1945 by the US Army's 9th Armored Division. Although the bridge collapsed later on, the Allies were able to build a bridgehead on the eastern bank of the Rhine, which led to a faster defeat of Germany.
