Ray Tomlinson

Raymond Tomlinson (born 1941) is a programmer who first used the "@" symbol for sending email in 1971 http://openmap.bbn.com/~tomlinso/ray/firstemailframe.html. He is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a long-time employee of BBN.
