Ranajit Guha

Ranajit Guha is a pioneer in the field of Subaltern studies. Around 1960, he migrated from India to an American university. His research methods demand the use of source material available at the local level. He has started a trend in history writing which has been followed by many historians since. He also has Marxist leanings in his writing.
