Railfreight Distribution

Railfreight Distribution was a sector of British Rail responsible for non-trainload freight operations. It was also later responsible for freight operations through the Channel Tunnel. In 1987 it introduced a new livery of two tone grey, with a logo consisting of two red diamonds on a yellow background offset on top of a red rectangle. In 1992 the livery was revised with a dark grey upper bodyside and a light grey lower bodyside. In 1995, the intermodal business was split off to form a separate company called Freightliner. In 1996, Railfreight Distribution was bought by EWS.
