Queen Elizabeth Hospital

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Q.E.H.' located in Bridgetown, Saint Michael, is the island of Barbados' main General Hospital. The Hospital is a 600 bed complex lying on the Eastern end of the capital city. The Hospital boasts having a series of operating theaters and can perform most surgeries. Specialised care at the Hospital includes, the areas of gynaecology, paediatrics, obstetrics, cardiac surgery, plastic surgery, psychotherapy, radiology, radiography and ophthalmology. In December 2004 the Barbados ministry of health disclosed that based on foreign-investment into the country, there may be a future possibility that genetic reconstructive surgery may be performed at the Q.E.H. facilities.
