Qazvin Province
Qazvin
is one of the 30
provinces
of
Iran
. It is in the north-west of the country, and its center is
the city of Qazvin
. It was formed in
1996
from parts of
Tehran
and
Zanjan
provinces. The name Qazvin is derived from
Caspian
, the name of a group of people who lived in the southern shores of the
Caspian Sea
in ancient times.
