Pylon Test Facility Mannheim

The Pylon test facility Mannheim is a facility operated by ABB in Mannheim for the examination of the static characteristics of pylons. The plant existing since 1959 can be used for the examination from pylons to a hitting a corner handle distance of 18x18 meters. Pylons with hitting a corner handle distances of up to 12x12 meters can be examined with a torque by up to 40 MNm and with hitting a corner handle distances of up to 18x18 meters with one course moment by up to 125 NMm. The two test racks of the overhead line mast testing equipment Mannheim are 65 meters high and with 16 rope hoists equipped.
