Purple Line - The Purple Liner is also the name used for the border between Syria and Israel.
The Purple Line of the Chicago Transit Authority runs completely above ground except for a small portion in Wilmette. During weekday rush hours, the Purple Line starts at the Linden station in north suburban Wilmette and passes through Evanston, making all stops until and including Howard, at the Chicago city line. After Howard, the Purple Line runs express, skipping all stops until Belmont. At Belmont, the Purple Line starts running like the Brown Line, making all stops along the route. At the Loop, the Purple Line turns around and heads back towards Wilmette. At all other times, the Purple Line runs only between Howard and Linden. The Purple Line is useful for reaching Northwestern University (Davis, Foster and Noyes stops in Evanston) and the Bah' House of Worship (Linden stop). See also
