Pu Songling

Pu Songling (蒲松齡, P Sōnglng) was a famous writer of the Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio during the Qing dynasty. He was a failed scholar and decided to give up his dream of becoming an official. He opened a tea house and invited his guests to tell stories, then he would compile the tales and write them. Many of his tales have been made into films. One of these films is called A Chinese Ghost Story(倩女幽魂)by Tsui Hark(徐克), a Hong Kong director.
