Private Benjamin

Private Benjamin is a 1980 comedy film which tells the story of a society girl who discovers things are not as soft when she joins the Army. It stars Goldie Hawn, Eileen Brennan, Armand Assante, Sam Wanamaker, Barbara Barrie, Mary Kay Place, Harry Dean Stanton, Albert Brooks and Alan Oppenheimer. The movie was written by Nancy Meyers, Harvey Miller and Charles Shyer. It was directed by Howard Zieff. It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Goldie Hawn), Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Eileen Brennan) and Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen. In 1981, Private Benjamin was made into a television series starring Lorna Patterson, Eileen Brennan, Hal Williams and Joel Brooks.
