Princeton North, New JerseyPrinceton North is a census-designated place located in Mercer County, New Jersey. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 4,528. While the Census may include an entry for it, there is no municipality named Princeton North. The older, central part of Princeton, New Jersey is Princeton Borough, and the newer, larger, surrounding part is Princeton Township, New Jersey. Geography Princeton North is located at 40°21'41" North, 74°39'7" West (40.361506, -74.651988). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 4.2 km² (1.6 mi²). 4.2 km² (1.6 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 4,528 people, 1,778 households, and 1,264 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 1,079.2/km² (2,796.8/mi²). There are 1,831 housing units at an average density of 436.4/km² (1,130.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 81.56% White, 5.72% African American, 0.27% Native American, 5.94% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 4.44% from other races, and 2.01% from two or more races. 8.39% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 1,778 households out of which 31.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.9% are married couples living together, 8.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 28.9% are non-families. 23.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.55 and the average family size is 2.96. In the CDP the population is spread out with 23.1% under the age of 18, 4.9% from 18 to 24, 23.7% from 25 to 44, 28.7% from 45 to 64, and 19.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 44 years. For every 100 females there are 91.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 88.1 males. The median income for a household in the CDP is $92,725, and the median income for a family is $109,118. Males have a median income of $69,063 versus $40,179 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $43,903. 6.0% of the population and 3.4% of families are below the poverty line.
