Port Ludlow is a census-designated place located in Jefferson County, Washington. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 1,968.

Geography

  Ludlow is located at 47°55'22" North, 122°41'27" West (47.922861, -122.690914). 
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 36.4 km² (14.1 mi²). 29.6 km² (11.4 mi²) of it is land and 6.8 km² (2.6 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 18.71% water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 1,968 people, 954 households, and 742 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 66.5/km² (172.2/mi²). There are 1,186 housing units at an average density of 40.1/km² (103.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 96.39% White, 0.10% African American, 0.20% Native American, 1.42% Asian, 0.15% Pacific Islander, 0.76% from other races, and 0.97% from two or more races. 1.52% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 954 households out of which 10.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 74.2% are married couples living together, 2.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 22.2% are non-families. 18.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.06 and the average family size is 2.29. In the CDP the population is spread out with 9.5% under the age of 18, 2.0% from 18 to 24, 11.9% from 25 to 44, 36.2% from 45 to 64, and 40.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 61 years. For every 100 females there are 94.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 96.0 males. The median income for a household in the CDP is $56,938, and the median income for a family is $62,298. Males have a median income of $50,265 versus $24,531 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $36,625. 1.2% of the population and 0.0% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 0.0% of those under the age of 18 and 0.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
