Popstars

Popstars is an international reality television program and a precursor to the Idol series. The show launched in New Zealand and formed the all-girl group True Bliss. In United Kingdom a second series, called "Popstars: The Rivals", set about creating an all-girl group (to be managed by Louis Walsh) and an all-boy group (managed by Pete Waterman). The race for the Christmas chart number one saw Walsh's Girls Aloud easily beating One True Voice, who quickly disbanded.

Stars launched from the show

The show has also launched careers of those known as Flopstars, the most popular being Liberty X who have had far more success than their competitors who won the show.
