Pierre-louis Lions

Pierre-Louis Lions (August 11 1956 - ) is a French mathematician. His parents were Jacques-Louis Lions, a mathematician and professor at the University of Nancy, and Andre Olivier, his wife. He received his doctorate from the University of Pierre and Marie Curie in 1979. He studies the theory of nonlinear partial differential equations, and received the Fields Medal for his work in 1994.
