Peugeot 407

The Peugeot 407 was originally presented as a prototype at the 2003 Frankfurt car show under the name Peugeot 407 Elixir. The Peugeot 407 is a medium sized family car produced by Peugeot and is the successor to the Peugeot 406. It was launched on May 27 2004. It is available in saloon (sedan) and SW (estate) variants with a coup edition to be launched in 2005. Its slogan is "Playtime is over". The coup was presented for the 2005 Geneva car show as a prototype under the name Peugeot 407 Prologue.

Engines

The 407 is available with diesel and petrol engines. The petrol engines range from 1.8 to 3.0 litres displacement. The car is capable of around 120-150 mph maximum speed. It also has two diesel engines - a 1.6 and a 2.2 both of which are capable of whisking you to 110 mph but they also give a combined fuel perfomance of around 50 mpg.

Design

The design of the car is very curved, which brings the design of the 407 more in line with the smaller Peugeot 307's looks. Its "face" features angry looking eyes and a big mouth.
