Petricevac

Petrićevac is a village on the outskirts of the city of Banja Luka in Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The place was the location of a Catholic Church of Saint Anthony and a Franciscan monastery in the 20th century. Miroslav Filipović-Majstorović originated from the monastery before he went on to join the Croatian fascist Ustaše organization during World War II and commit numerous war crimes over the Serbs in the region between 1941 and 1945. The church and the monastery were destroyed by the Bosnian Serb Army during the war in Bosnia in 1995, causing the death of one of the friars in the process. The reconstruction of the buildings started in 2003 after Pope John Paul II visited the site.
