Peter Struck Peter Struck (born January 24, 1943 in Gttingen) is a lawyer, member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany and has been German Minister of Defence under chancellor Gerhard Schrder since October 22 2002. Education Struck studied law at the universities of Gttingen and Hamburg. In 1971 he graduated to Dr jur. (doctor of laws). Politics Peter Struck is a member of the Bundestag since 1980. From 1990 to 1998 he was whip (Parlamentarischer Geschftsfhrer) of the SPD parliamentary group. In 1998 he became chairman of the SPD parliamentary group.
