Perry Christie

Perry Gladstone Christie (born August 21, 1944) is the Prime Minister of the Bahamas and a former athlete. He became PM on May 3 2002 when his party came to power in parliamentary elections and is only the country's third. He is also leader of the Progressive Liberal Party. In 1984 he quit the party in disgust at the culture of bribe-taking, but later returned to it. Christie is married to Bernadette Christie, a chartered accountant.
