Pentagon (Washington Metro)

Pentagon is a Washington Metro station in Arlington, Virginia on the Blue and Yellow Lines. It is a transfer station for the Blue and Yellow lines, but they do not cross; this is where the two lines diverge going north, the Blue Line continuing on in Virginia and the Yellow Line crossing the Potomac River. The station is located under The Pentagon, with direct (but secure) access to the Pentagon and its underground shopping center. The station has been renovated, and security greatly enhanced, after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks shut it down for several days. Service began on July 1, 1977.
