Pandanus

Pandanus tectorius etc. Pandanus is a genus in the family Pandanaceae, containing several species of tree-like plants native to Oceania. These trees are also sometimes called screw pines because its long, flat leaves grow in a spiral configuration.

Pandanus tectorius

Pandanus tectorius is a small tree that grows up to 6 m (18.3 ft) high. It is supported by prop roots that firmly anchor the tree to the ground, especially in loose sand. Its leaves are usually 90-150 cm (3-5 feet) long and 5-7 cm wide with saw-like edges.
