Kent
(just outside
Hadlow
, near
Tonbridge
) in the "West Kent Rural Conservation Area". The spelling "Oxen Hoath" is a common alternative. It was built by
John Culpeper
as a Royal Park for
oxen
and
deer
. In
1846
Sir William Geary
commissioned the
mansard
dome from
Anthony Salvin
. It is now an "Open Retreat Centre".
