Osaka-kobe-kyoto

Ōsaka-Kōbe-Kyōto is the name of a metropolitan area that is centered around the cities of Osaka in the Osaka prefecture, Kobe in the Hyogo prefecture, and Kyoto in the Kyoto prefecture. This area has a population of 16 million. It is the world's eigth most populated metropolitan area. It is also Japan's second most populated metropolitan area after the Greater Tokyo Area. The area is often known as Keihanshin (京阪神) in the Japanese language. This name is based on the kanji of Kyoto (京都), Osaka (大阪), and Kobe (神戸), with on readings instead of kun readings
