Organization Of Afro-american Unity

The Organization of Afro-American Unity was formed by Malcolm X on June 28, 1964. The organization lasted until the death of its founder in February 1965. It is said to be a split from the Nation of Islam, as it was formed shortly after its founder left that group and was designed to have less strict rules and religious sacrifices. At its peak the secular group had several hundred members and supporters.
