Opchanacanough

Opechancanough or Opchanacanough was a chief of the Powhatan tribe, becoming chief after his older brother, Wahunsonacock, died. He gave up on diplomacy with the English settlers and twice tried to force the English to abandon Virginia, in 1622 and 1644.
