On Famous Women

De mulieribus claris (Latin for On Famous Women) is a collection of biographies of women by Giovanni Boccaccio. It was inspired by Petrarch's collection of lives of famous men. The collection was used by Geoffrey Chaucer, and inspired Christine de Pizan's The Book of the City of Ladies.
