Olle Karlqvist

Olle Karlqvist (1922-1976) grew up in Norrkping and graduated as engineer at KTH in 1949. He was a member of Matematikmaskinnmnden from the start and worked on the computers BARK and BESK. 1948 he married Inga Lindberg from Nora. They had two children Yvonne in 1949 and Jan in 1953. In 1970 he remarried with Margit Bergqvist from Liding. In 1953 he discovered the "Karlqvist field", a magnetic phenomena that is now being used for calculations in the development of read/write heads of hard disks.
