Odense municipal, (Danish: Odense Kommune) is a Danish municipal in Funen County. Covering 304,34 km A former Provincial-municipal, re-created April 1, 1970 as Odense municipal, by comprising the former Provincial- Parish- and Village- municipalities of Allerup-Davinde, Allese-Nsbyhoved, Broby, Brndekilde, Bellinge, Dalum, Fraugde, Korup-Ubberud, Lumby, Odense, Paarup, Sanderum, Stenlse-Fangel and Fjordager coalition-municipal (created 1966 by comprising Agedrup and Seden-sum municipal), plus Hjby parish. Per 1st January 2005, Odense municipal has 185.871 inhabitants and 39 percent of Funen County's population lives in this municipal. The municipal has 37 municipal schools and 13 private schools. Main city, site of both the municipal council and Funen County, is Odense.
