Oak Hills, Oregon

Oak Hills is a census-designated place and an unincorporated community located in Washington County, Oregon. As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 9,050.

Geography

  Hills is located at 45°32'26" North, 122°50'29" West (45.540421, -122.841485). 
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 4.0 km² (1.5 mi²). 4.0 km² (1.5 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 9,050 people, 3,397 households, and 2,374 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 2,269.0/km² (5,864.8/mi²). There are 3,478 housing units at an average density of 872.0/km² (2,253.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 78.46% White, 1.28% African American, 0.43% Native American, 13.76% Asian, 0.23% Pacific Islander, 3.01% from other races, and 2.83% from two or more races. 5.82% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 3,397 households out of which 39.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.8% are married couples living together, 6.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.1% are non-families. 23.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 2.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.66 and the average family size is 3.19. In the CDP the population is spread out with 29.0% under the age of 18, 9.0% from 18 to 24, 34.5% from 25 to 44, 21.6% from 45 to 64, and 6.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 32 years. For every 100 females there are 103.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 102.1 males. The median income for a household in the CDP is $61,217, and the median income for a family is $71,849. Males have a median income of $53,000 versus $29,864 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $27,163. 3.8% of the population and 1.4% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 3.3% of those under the age of 18 and 3.1% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
