Northwest Medical Teams International

Northwest Medical Teams International is a non-profit humanitarian aid organization founded in 1979 which helped more than 1.5 million people in 2002-2003. Its mission is to "demonstrate the love of Christ to people affected by disaster, conflict and poverty." The organization was founded by a businessman, Ron Post, after he saw the suffering of survivors of Cambodia's Killing Fields on television. The company's headquarters are in Portland, Oregon. It focuses its attention on Africa, Central Asia (since 1996), Eastern Europe and the Balkans (since the early 1990s), Mexico (since 1985), Latin America, and Southeast Asia.
