Nonsymmetric Gravitational Theory

Nonsymmetric Gravitational Theory is a modification of Einstein's theory of General Relativity that tries to explain the mystery of Dark Matter. The theory is similar to Modified Newtonian Dynamics (MOND) in suggesting that there is no Dark Matter. Instead, the mysterious rotation curves of galaxies are explained by the existence of a mysterious and massive antisymmetric field. This fields modifies the motion of the stars but is not observable within the solar system. There is a reason to hope that this theory and its rival, MOND, will be tested in the near future thanks to new observations.
