Niulakita

Niulakita is the southernmost isle of Tuvalu. It was bought by the UK in the mid-1900s to decrease the population density. There are four ponds or lakes and the village which has a maneapa (a village hall (or community hall) in Tuvalu, it is on each isle, and has also meeting and recreational functions). The isle has the form of an egg (horizontally) and a length of about 1 km.
