NicktoonsNickToons, also known as NickToons TV, is a digital cable and satellite television network. It is a sister service of the Nickelodeon cable channel with its commercial-free format. Its original programming consists entirely of animated cartoons previously or currently broadcasted on its parent network. It was launched in mid-2002, which was first only available on digital cable until early 2004, when it began its broadcast on satellite television as well. In February 2005, Nickelodeon announced that NickToons would become ad-supported (basically meaning, commercials will begin airing on the network), in August of 2005. NickToons has also shown some non-Nicktoons, most of them produced by Steven Spielberg & Warner Bros. Animation, which Nickelodeon had rights to at the time the network was launched. Among the shows NickToons has featured, past and present: Animated shorts have also been broadcast on the show every day.
