Nicholas Metropolis

Nicholas Constantine Metropolis (June 11, 1915 - October 17, 1999) was a mathematician and physicist. Metropolis contributed several original ideas to mathematics and physics. Perhaps the most widely known is the Monte Carlo method. He died in Los Alamos, New Mexico. See also:
