Natasha Henstridge

Natasha Henstridge (born August 15, 1974) is a Canadian actress who has starred in movies such as Species and Species II. Born in Springdale, Newfoundland, Canada to parents Brian and Helen, she was raised in a trailer park in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada.

Modeling

At the age of 14 Henstridge went to Paris to start a career in modeling after being first runner up in the worldwide Look of the Year contest, sponsored by the Casablanca Modeling Agency, who also has represented Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell. At age 15 she was on the cover of the French edition of Cosmopolitan.

Movies

Henstridge was cast at age 21 in the 1995 science fiction movie Species which did well and put her in the spotlight. Her fame did not last, however, as her roles in subsequent films were less popular. She had roles in Maximum Risk, , and Standoff. In 1998 she starred in Species II, which did not fare nearly as well as its prequel, and in 2000 in The Whole Nine Yards. She has also done a few roles on television, such as South Park and The Outer Limits. On October 14, 1998 she had a son, Tristan River Waite, with fianc and actor Liam Waite. Henstridge was earlier married to actor Damian Chapa for short while in 1995.
