Namibia, Land Of The Brave"Namibia, Land of the Brave" is the national anthem of Namibia. After it became independent in 1990, Namibia held a competiton to decide upon a new anthem, which was won by Axali Doseb, the director of a traditional music group from the Kalahari desert. On the first anniversary of independence the new national anthem was played for the first time publicly and met with general public approval. However, there was some discussion over the text, since in the opinion of some musicologists the linguistic stresses are not always harmonious with the musical rhythm.
