Nadiad

Nadiad is a medium-sized city in the Indian state of Gujarat, with a population of about 0.8 million. It is in the Kheda district. It is famous for a holy town named Dakor in its vicinity. It is also about ten miles away from Anand (milk city), the milk capital of Gujarat and possibly of the whole of India. Nadiad also boasts the Dharamsinh Desai Institute of Technology, which is famous in Gujarat for its quality education in the fields of engineering and technology. The temple, Santaram Mandir, famous for its carvings, is in Nadiad. Nadiad was the home town of freedom fighter, statesman, and first Deputy Prime Minister of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
