Multnomah Falls

Multnomah Falls is a tall waterfall on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge. In two steps it drops 611 feet from its origin on Larch Mountain, making it the tallest waterfall in Oregon. It is commonly thought that Multnomah Falls is the 4th or 5th tallest waterfall in the United States, when in reality it isn't even in the Top 100 tallest waterfalls in the United States. A foot trail leads to a bridge spanning the upper plunge pool, and continues on to the top of the upper falls. The site is easily reached via a scenic stretch of I-84 east of Portland, Oregon, or the even more scenic Columbia River Highway (U.S. 30).
