Mourning Becomes Electra

Mourning Becomes Electra is a play by Eugene O'Neill. It tells the story of a poisonous, incestuous family that is based on the Greek myth of Orestes. In 1947, the play was made into a movie starring Rosalind Russell, Michael Redgrave, Raymond Massey, Katina Paxinou, Leo Genn and Kirk Douglas. It was adapted and directed by Dudley Nichols. The movie was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Michael Redgrave) and Best Actress in a Leading Role.
