Montreal Aaa

Montreal Amateur Athletic Association is an athletic association located in the city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was renamed as the Club Sportif MAA or just MAA (Montreal MAA) in 1999 after a brush with bankruptcy, but is still widely known as the MAAA. The current clubhouse was opened in 1905, on Peel street in downtown Montreal, in the current commercial district. Until the revival in 1999, the club was solely member financed, and this caused problems as the member population aged and dropped out. The high taxes on the clubhouse property in central Montreal exacerbated their problems.
