Michael Verhoeven

Michael Verhoeven (July 13, 1938 in Berlin) is a German film director. Son of the German film director Paul Verhoeven (not the Dutch Paul Verhoeven), he married actress Senta Berger in 1966. Together, they formed a production company and began to make films. The anti- Vietnam war O.K. was entered into the Berlin film festival, but scandal forced a collapse of the festival, without any prizes nor awards given. In 1982, Die weie Rose came, which with the Best Foreign film nomination of Das schreckliche Mdchen in 1990 cemented his position as an important political contributor to German film.
