Miami Tornado

The Miami Tornado was the tornado event that occurred on May 12, 1997. This tornado was an F0 on the Fujita Scale. This tornado was somewhat out of the ordinary because tornadoes generally don't form this far south this late in the year. Storm systems usually don't go this far south nor do they form this far south. The tornado formed in the morning hours as a waterspout then moved onto land as an F0 tornado causing minor damage. It crossed the bridge going to the Keys sideswiping a cruise ship. People in Miami are usually more warned by hurricanes than tornadoes because of their rarity here.
