) is the designation used by members of the
Legislative Assembly
in the province of
Ontario
,
Canada
. This title came into use after
World War II
. Previously, members used the title 'Member of the Legislative Assembly' (
MLA
). The members of all other provincial legislative assemblies in Canada are called MLAs, with the exception of
Quebec
(Members of the
National Assembly
, MNA), and
Newfoundland and Labrador
(Members of the
House of Assembly
, MHA). *
